The Pet Sematary is a book written by Stephen King. In the book, a young boy finds out that his brother is dying and goes to a magical place called The Pet Sematary to talk to his pet cat named Church and ask him to do anything that he wants. The Cat tells him that if he buries him in the woods and says the words “I buried him and I mourned him”, his brother will be resurrected as a zombie. His mother, father and brother will die again and be buried in the Pet Sematary.

Church tells them all this as he disappears into the mist of death. After hearing this story, the child (Ellie) breaks down crying as she thinks that her brother might die any minute. She believes that the only way to prevent her brother’s death is to bury him in the woods and say those words.
